Tangled Limbs
A singular book made with Mel, for Mel…
...from a single roll of film that expired 50 years prior to the month it was shot,
Tangled Limbs is half twisted trees basking in the afternoon light...
half limbs, arms and legs, tangled together in a loving union...
as time passes by marking those fleeting moments. Far from a latent thought
in early 1969, months before the landing on the moon.
But layers of time keep swirling...
never stopping
no beginning, no end
. . .. . .. . . .
It started with our limbs
photographed casually intertwined
`
We wandered through the low light
in barren woods
Shooting the many twirling limbs
emerging from the winter chill
You photographed me loading the final roll of a batch
I stopped shooting halfway
through the roll
saving half for our woven limbs
The other side of the same coin
nature’s gesture
Tangled limbs
The last frames bending time, the day it expired 50 years prior
The last frames disintegrating into nebulae
